Safety and security at the University is structured according to current regulations and subject to continuous improvements in order to ensure a correct perception of of feeling safe, well-being, and health for users and staff while carrying out their activities.

It is important to define the italian word “sicurezza” as a different meaning between Safety and Security.

The word “Safety” refers to workplace, related to the hazards inherent in the activities carried out that can generate accidental and harmful events for human health, environmental integrity and property.

On the contrary, the word “Security” refers to intentional and criminal events that threaten the people, the environment and property.

In both cases, psychological implications can lead to feelings of discomfort and unsafe feeling.

The University of Pavia has always aimed at continuously improving working conditions and the perception of safe feeling in its policy.
