In order to ensure a prompt and effective management of emergencies, the University of Pavia has adopted a dual role system so every emergency operator have the double qualification: Fire Fighting Operator and First Aid Rescuer.
Emergency responders are required to operate within the building where their affiliated structure is located and are properly trained through courses for High Risk Fire Fighting Operators (16 hours with an final test at the Fire Fighter Professionals), courses for First Aid Responders for Group B companies, and updated according to the frequency established by current regulations.
Only in the case of the Applied Nuclear Energy Laboratory (L.E.N.A.) the operators First Aid Responders trained with courses for Group A companies.
